Righard Egen
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Righard Egen is a seasoned businessman in the financial services and gold commodities industries. Since 2012, he has built alliances with various professionals to lead gold democratization in South Africa. With a talent for market disruption and innovation, Righard is well-positioned to drive the success of Egen Holding Group.
Eric Venter
Non-Executive Director
Eric graduated with a degree in Political Science at the university of Pretoria in 1987, followed by a Honors Degree in International Politics, also form the University of Pretoria with Majors in International Relations and African Politics. Leading up to this he did a diploma in Police Administration at the Technicon of South Africa as well as a Diploma in Franchising... from Damlin College. Eric Started his career path in 1982 with the South African Police Service and after becoming an officer he ventures into the financial services industry in 1992 for 13 years, covering all related products but specializing in international investments for the last 7 years thereof. He subsequently applied his mind to the diamond industry and was a licensed trader in both South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). During this 5-year period, he did travel throughout Africa extensively, buying gold and diamonds for the Middle East, Dubai, and European markets. After 2008 he spent 5 years in the Construction Industry, Specializing in Aluminium Products. Eric started as a Project Manager with the TV Business Show “Ontbytsake” in the year 2013 and applied his mind to the marketing of airtime products and exposures in line with this unique dissipline. Eric did build a vast network of influential business people during his career and became a master in the art of cold calling.
Tjaart le Roux
Director: Innovation and New Business
Tjaart is a registered professional electronic engineer with the SA Council of Professional Engineers. He holds B. Eng. (Electronic Engineering), an MBA and M. Phil. (Futures Studies) from University of Stellenbosch. Tjaart was part of Vodacom Ventures and later Vodacom Group Strategy Division, participating in developing strategy for... Financial Services, M-Health, Machine-to-Machine (Internet of Things – IoT) to name a few. He was instrumental in the creation of the Emerging Market Collaboration and Innovation unit and engaged with The Innovation Hub in Pretoria, the innovation agency of the Gauteng Province. Tjaart developed and implemented business initiatives in the fields of Mobile Money, Mobile Vouchers & Coupons, Contactless Near Field Communication (NFC) based mobile payment including electronic wallet payment systems in the FMCG industry. The past few years Tjaart implemented mini programs on the VodaPay Super App. Tjaart serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Pretoria Computer Science Faculty.
Cariké Bierman

Cariké holds a Bachelor of Accounting degree from Boston City Campus. She guides the development, implementation and administration of all accounting and finance functions across the group. With a forward-thinking and strategic mindset, eight years’ experience in accounting and finance and over 14 years extensive administrative... and office management experience, she effectively combines financial management and accounting experience with a continuous improvement mindset to optimize the performance of the finance functions to support business strategy and growth. Cariké heads up key financial projects that enhance efficiency and streamlining processes, directing strategic planning, financial analysis, reporting and risk advisory functions for internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
Serena Janse van Rensburg

Serena holds a BA Psychology degree from University of Pretoria and Honours in Psychology from UNISA. She is qualified in FAIS 1B – Personal Lines 1B (NQF Level 4), FAIS Regulatory Exam RE5 – First Level Regulatory Exam: (Cum Laude), and FAIS RE1 Key Individual Exam. Serena has over 20 years of experience in the Short-Term Insurance... Industry. Her latest experience includes the successful expansion of SA Gold Bits and overseeing the business growth and performance on a day-to-day basis. She assisted in the development and implementation of Unlock Bullion, the sister company to SA Gold Bits, and has been managing the daily operations of this business.

Jaco is a distinguished... IT professional with over two decades of experience. As the Non-executive Chief Technical Director at Egen Holdings, he drives technological innovation and operational excellence within the organisation. With a strong background in project management and systems integration, Jaco has designed and implemented numerous automation systems and business process management solutions. Jaco’s career highlights include founding and serving as CTO for Open-Automation and Centurion Solar, where he developed cutting-edge IoT and solar management solutions. Notable projects include the Solar Management Hub (SMH), an advanced system integrating solar inverters and batteries for real-time telemetry and automated control. He has also held roles as a Senior Project Manager and a Senior Technical Specialist for the CSIR. Jaco’s achievements have earned him accolades such as the Infoplan’s prize for exceptional system development, the IOCORE and CSIR award for outstanding application development and technical excellence. As Chief Technical Director, he continues to ensure robust and innovative IT solutions that support Egen Holdings’ growth and success.
